Annual Golf Tournament Huge Success

This year’s Memorial Golf Tournament, held on June 6, 2016 was the fifteenth year for this event. As before, the funds raised benefit students in the form of scholarships and teacher innovation programs in Lake Dallas ISD.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the 50+ volunteers who helped keep everything organized and flowing smoothly. The 160 golfers participated in four-person teams competing in a modified scramble. Thank to our generous sponsors, participants were given awards for lowest gross team score, longest drive, closest to the pin, and many other categories.

Not only did our golf teams have a great time, they raised more than $51,000 to continue the endowment of these scholarships and grants. Lake Dallas ISD principals expressed their gratitude:

“Words cannot express the depths of gratitude the Lake Dallas High School students and staff members have for the Lake Cities Educational Foundation.  The opportunities you afford and place into motion through scholarship dollars for students and grants to teachers cannot be replicated by any other entity.  Thank you for your belief in us and allowing us to believe in you.”  Dr. Kristi Strickland, Principal LDHS
“All Lake Dallas Elementary teachers are committed to bringing out the best in every student.  The direct support in the classroom that the Lake Cities Educational Foundation brings to our campus allows us to tap into the potential of every child and ensure his or her opportunity for success.  Thank you LCEF for your continued dedication and commitment to our students, teachers and campus.”  Dr. Jennifer Perry, Principal LDE

The day was split with half the teams playing in the morning and half in the afternoon. Awards were given for both time frames. Congratulations go to:
